During MagicCon: Las Vegas, Wizards of the Coast announced the reintroduction of MSRP for Magic: The Gathering, starting with the Foundations Set. The pricing details are as follows:

  • Play Booster: $5.25

  • Collector Booster: $24.99

  • Starter Collection: $59.99

  • Jumpstart Booster: $5.49

  • Bundle: $49.99

  • Beginner Box: $29.99

This move allows retailers to make informed pricing decisions while providing transparency for both new and experienced players. One of the common concerns from players was the inconsistent pricing across different stores, with some marking Play Booster packs at $9 while others priced them at $6. Similarly, Commander decks were priced uniformly despite varying desirability, leading to inflated prices for certain decks like Eldrazi Incursion.

At BattlePub, we aim to eliminate this confusion by setting clear, standardized pricing for our products:

  • Commander Decks: $50

  • Specialty Commander (Universus Beyond, MH3, etc.): $65

  • Play Booster Pack: $6

  • Collector Booster Pack: $25

We are pleased that our pricing closely aligns with the new MSRP structure set by Wizards of the Coast. We believe this change will be a healthy step forward for our favorite card game, making it more accessible and enjoyable for all players. Wizards of the Coast did mention that these prices are suggested, and some retailers may continue to set their own prices. However, as BattlePub, we will adhere to the suggested pricing to avoid up-charging our customers. We understand the financial investment in these games and strive to offer a fair and enjoyable experience. Come to BattlePub, enjoy our tables, grab a beer, and introduce more players to the beloved game we've cherished for the past 31 years.
